TYPES OF AUDIPHONES

BTE hearing aid audiphones (behind the ear)

BTE (Behind The Ear) audiphones are curved and fit comfortably behind the ear. A custom mould is made with the exact shape of the ear, for a complete customization of the audiphones. This earmold directs sound from the audiphones to the earpiece.

RITE Audiphones (Receiver In The Ear)

The RITE hearing aid audiphones (“Receiver In The Ear”) is located in the mold itself, rather than inside the housing, which sets them apart from the BTE audiphones.

ITE Audiphones (inside the ear)

ITE (In The Ear) hearing aid audiphones are located inside the ear, and designed to fit directly into the ear. Its components are lodged inside a plastic housing, without cables or external tubes.

ITC headphones (Intra-channel)

ITC (In The Canal) hearing aid audiphones are smaller, and are deeply inserted into the user’s ear canal.

CIC Audiphones (completely in the channel)

CIC (Completely In the Channel) hearing aids audiphones are custom-made that are fully inserted into the ear canal. It is deeply adjusted to be less visible.

CROS/BI-CROS Audiphones

CROS/BI-CROS hearing aid audiphones are used when a person has normal hearing in one ear, and severe hearing loss in the other. It is placed in the ear with better hearing, and an additional microphone is added in the ear with hearing loss.
